The website contains the names of well over 5,000 soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment.
Where the named soldiers were killed or died of wounds in
the First World War, the memorials on which they are commemorated or the
graves in which they are buried have been photographed and recorded. These
memorials or commemorations are shown against the soldier's name.
If you know the name of a soldier in the Yorkshire Regiment who lost his
life in the First World War, the first step is to check the on-line database
of names.
This database will show you the memorials or cemetery associated with the name, and each memorialor cemetery is directly linked to the relevant page where further details may be found.
If you don't find the name of the soldier you are looking for in this database, there are several other pages on the website which contain the names of soldiers of the Yorkhsire Regiment. These include the list of officers who were killed in the First World War, the officers and men of the 2nd Battalion who took part in the First Battle of Ypres in October 1914, and so on.
