Wrekin College is an independent co-educational boarding and day school located in Sutherland Road,Wellington, Shropshire.

The school chapel contains two War Memorials. The memorial to those past pupils of the school who lost their lives in the First World War commemorates 54 names.
Adjacent to this memorial is one that commemorates past pupils of the school who lost their lives in the Second World War. Interestingly, there are more names on this memorial (97) than on the memorial for the First World War.

One Officer of the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the First World War Memorial.


2nd Lieutenant Gerald Barford Hornby. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Herbert Edwin and Beatrice Maud Hornby, of Severn House, Sneyd Park, Bristol. Killed 12 July 1916. Aged 19.
Buried DANTZIG ALLEY CEMETERY.
