The War Memorial, - Wetheringsett (Suffolk)

Clarke
The War Memorial for Wetheringsett (Suffolk) stands at the Southern
end of the village of Wetheringsett cum Brockford. The memorial, - a simple
obelisk, can be found at the junction of Hockey Hill with Hall Lane, just
North of the mid-Suffolk Light Railway Museum.
20 names are commemorated on the memorial as having lost their lives in the
First World War, and 6 names are commemorated for the Second World War.

Two soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.
Private George Bedwell. 42817. 8th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment, formerly 172664 RFA. Killed 22 September 1917.
Born Sweffling (Suffolk), Enlisted Bury St. Edmunds, Resided Brockford (Nr
Stowmarket).
Buried LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY.
Private Albert Keeble. 235309. 8th Battalion The King's
(Liverpool Regiment), formerly 241970 the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 8 October
1918.
Born Wetheringsett (Suffolk), Enlisted Stowmarket (Suffolk), Resided Stowmarket.
Buried ANNEUX BRITISH CEMETERY.
