The First World War Memorial in Holy Trinity Church, Weston (Herts) is a bronze rectangular plaque with a nowy head and the names in two columns in raised lettering. Top centre is a cross with oak leaves and acorns.

Driver Alfred Ernest Austin, 23542. 150th Coy Machine Gun Corps (Infantry), formerly 2773 Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin, of Hitchin Lane, Weston, Stevenage, Herts. Killed 10 April 1918. Aged 28.
Born Duffield (Yorks), Enlisted Middleton-on-the-Wold.
Buried HAVERSKERQUE BRITISH CEMETERY.

Alfred Ernest Austin was born in Weston, Herts, in 1890, - NOT "Duffield" (sic). He was Christened in Holy Trinity Church, Weston, on 5 October 1890. In 1911 he was a waggoner in Sheriff Hutton (Yorks)
