All Saints' Church in West Harton (South Shields) is located on Boldon Lane, immediately to the North of the Methodist Church (which sits at the junction of Boldon Lane and Harton Lane).
The First World War Memorial in West Harton's All Saints' Church is an oak plaque bearing the commemorated names. This has a dome at centre top supported by leaves on either side. Inside the dome is a laurel wreath raised in half relief with the words “Roll of honour” inside and the dates outside. The names are listed in six columns, The quotation is in the bottom border. All lettering is carved using sans serif capitals.

Killed 29 July 1917. Aged 36.
Born Bear Park Collier, Enlisted South Shields.
Commemorated on Panel 33 YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
(the 1911 Census records him living with his family at 23 Brownlow Road which
is about a 10 minute walk away from All Saints‘ Church.)

2nd/8th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, formerly 44899
the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of the late Robert and Jane Coates. Killed
9 October 1917. Aged 19.
Born South Shields (Durham), Enlisted South Shields.

Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Henry and Elizabeth Rutherford, of 4, Loudon St.,
West Harton, South Shields. Killed 13 May 1917. Aged 20.
Born Bebside, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Harton Colliery (Co Durham).
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
The following biographical information is shown in the South
Shields Boys High School website;-
"Thomas Henry Rutherford was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Rutherford.
His father is described as a Bank Inspector ("at Colliery looking after
traffic and cleaning coal"). At the time he was at the school they lived
for some time in the office buldings at Harton Colliery.
