In the Linskill Community Centre, Tynemouth, is a First World War Memorial wall. The wall consists of a series of 56 panels in rows of two, listing the names of men from the local area who died in the Great War, together with the streets in which they lived. Two further panels tell the story behind this memorial.
Each panel has a dappled border. The names of the streets are in red, the names in black. The names are listed according to the street where they lived.
Further images of this Memorial Wall are below.

A panel showing the scope of the commemoration project for Tynemouth is shown below.

The names on the Memorial Wall are from the Tynemouth Roll of Honour. This is a book published by the Northern Press Ltd on 28th April 1923. This book is now held by the Tyne-Wear Archives in Blandford House, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
A copy of the Roll of Honour may be viewed by selecting this link (10 Mb PDF file).
The Tynemouth Roll of Honour has been transcribed on to a website, with additional details of the names commemorated.
