The First World War Memorial from the Miner's Hall, Trimdon Grange, is now located in St. Aidan's Church, Trimdon Grange.

The memorial is a marble Tablet with a frame of brown alabaster, carved in classical shape, with crossed staffs of office on a laurel wreath raised in half relief. The words "They died for freedom and honour" are carved in half relief in a sunken panel on the bottom border. The central main tablet bears the dedication. The names are in 5 columns, incised and blackened using Roman capitals throughout.

94 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War.

12 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the memorial.

Private John Durkin. 11076. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of John and Catharine Durkin, of 11, Third St., Wheatley Hill, Co. Durham. Killed 11 July 1916. Aged 26.
Born Spennymoor, Enlisted Wheatley Hill.
Buried BOULOGNE EASTERN CEMETERY.

Private James Ferris. 72452. 2nd Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own), formerly 46954 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James and Jane Ferris, of Wingate, Co. Durham; husband of Henrietta Ferris, of 15, Brook St., West Hartlepool, Co. Durham. Killed 28 May 1918. Aged 31.
Enlisted Ferryhill, Resided 15 Brook Street, West Hartlepool.

Private Thomas Watson Harland, 18574. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 1 July 1916.
Born Trimdon, Enlisted Deaf Hill, Resided Trimdon Grange.

Private Richard Heslop, 243307. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Richard Heslop, of I, Office Buildings, Trimdon Colliery, Co. Durham. Killed 28 March 1918. Aged 26.
Born Trimdon (Durham), Enlisted Wheatley Hil, Resided Trimdon Colliery (Durham).

(Both the CWGC and SDGW records show the name as Robert Wilfred Ruddick. However, he was registered born as Robert Wilford Ruddick in Q2 1897 in Hartlepool, Durham.)

Private William Spence, 16052. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William and Mary Spence, of 8, Railway Row, Trimdon, Co. Durham. Killed 1 July 1916. Aged 24.
Born Trimdon, Enlisted Sunderland, Resided Trimdon.

Serjeant Anthony Stratford. 11624. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William Stratford, of Kelloe Winning, Trimdon Grange; husband of Annie Trail (formerly Stratford), of 1, South Plantation, Trimdon Grange, Co. Durham. Killed 7 August 1915. Aged 39.
Born Seaham Harbour, Enlisted Deafhill Colliery, Resided Trimdon Grange.
