The First World War Memorial at the entrance to Tong Cemetery, Bradford.

The First World War Memorial located at the entrance to Tong Cemetery, Bradford, has a figure of a soldier resting on arms reversed on a rectangular granite plinth with five stepped base. A wreath and ribbon are on front face of base.
Tong Cemetery is at the junction of Tong Street (A650) and Toftshaw Lane, South East of Bradford.

Born Leeds, Enlisted Leeds, Resided New Wortley.
Commemorated mon the VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL.

Private Ernest Sandby Clarkson. 6972. (alias). Private Ernest Sandby Hall. 6972. (true family name)
(Clarkson was an alias, - "Hall" was the true family name, and the name in which he is listed with the 2nd Battalion).
2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 30 October 1914.
Born Bradford, Enlisted Bradford.
Buried YPRES TOWN CEMETERY EXTENSION.

Private Joseph Leonard Kershaw. 38233. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Kershaw; husband of Ada Evelyn Kershaw, of 4, Pitt's St., Cutler Heights Lane, Bradford, Yorks. Killed 24 April 1917. Aged 37.
Born Birstall (Yorks), Enlisted Bradford.
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.

Private Luke Kinder. 27624. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William and Alice Kinder, of 491, Tong St., Dudley Hill, Bradford, Yorks. Killed 28 September 1916. Aged 21.
Born Batley (Yorks), Enlisted Bradford.
Buried BERNAFAY WOOD BRITISH CEMETERY.
