St. Mary's Church, Walkley, was located in Hadfield Street.

Inside is a Memorial Board for parishioners who lost their lives in the First World War. This is a board divided into 5 panels with the names painted in gold upper case lettering.
A second board commemorates those parishioners who lost their lives in the Second World War.

A Cross outside the Church commemorates those who lost their lives in both World Wars (no names).

A transcription of the names of those commemorated on the First World War Memorial is on the Imperial war Museum's Register of War Memorials website.
256 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War.

1 soldier who fought with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.

Private John William Riley. 41787. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 185035 R F A. Son of the late George Riley and Harriet Rose (formerly Riley), of 17, Palm St., Walkley, Sheffield. Killed 10 October 1917. Aged 38.
Born Sheffield, Enlisted Sheffield, Resided Walkley.
Commemorated Panel 52 to 54 and 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
