The War Memorials in St. Martin's Church, Scampston, arerectangular brass plaques mounted on wooden board. A red latin cross sits at the top middle of the middle plaque, followed by inscription. Carved lettering isb in captals.

6 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War and 1 in the Second World War.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the above memorial.


Private Henry Vincent Evans. 17772. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Henry and Alice M. Evans, of Scampston, Rillington, Malton, Yorks. Killed 10 July 1916. Aged 20.
Born Scampston (Yorks), Enlisted Malton, Resided Scampston.
Commemorated on Pier and Face 3A and 3D, THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
