The First World War Memorial Plaque in St. Michael's Church,
Sandhurst (Berks) is a rectangular brass plaque mounted on marble and fixed
on the wall to the right of the arch to the altar. Above the brass plaque,
still mounted on the marble, is a small figure of Christ on the Cross.
The plaque is reported to be a replica containing some inaccuracies after
the original was lost in a fire.

67 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War.
1 soldier who served in the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.
Lance Corporal Arthur Woodage, DCM, Order of St. George 3rd
Class (Russia). 9022. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Alfred
and Elizabeth Woodage, of Little Sandhurst, Berks. Killed 17 May 1915. Aged
23.
Born Arborfield (Wokingham), Enlisted Aldershot, Resided Little Sandhurst
(Beds).

Arthur Woodage is incorrectly shown on the memorial as serving
in the RASC.
From the 1901 Census he is living with his family at 150 Little Sandhurst,
Berkshire, then aged 9 years old.
