The Salterforth War Memorial is a simple granite obelisk, and is located at the junctionn of Kelbrook Road (B6383) and Salterforth Lane in Salterforth.

12 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War, and 6 in the Second World War.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the above memorial.


Private Willie Brown, 2745. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Edmund and Margaret Brown, of Salterforth, Lancs. Killed 18 October 1918. Aged 26.
Born Salterforth (Yorks), Enlisted Keighley, Resided Salterforth.
Buried STE. MARIE CEMETERY, LE HAVRE.
