The Roll
of Honour Page on the Saltaire Village Website.
Saltaire is a Victorian model village within the City of Bradford Metropolitan District, West Yorkshire, England, by the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. UNESCO has designated the village as a World Heritage Site. Saltaire was built in 1851 by Sir Titus Salt, a leading industrialist in the Yorkshire woollen industry. The name of the village is a combination of the founder's surname and the name of the river.
The Saltaire Village website, provides extensive information on the village, - covering the history and news of the village.
Colin Coates (<colincoates55@gmail.com>), a local historian, has researched the names of the men of Saltaire who lost their lives in the First World War. Details of these men, with biographies, can be found on the Roll of Honour page on the Saltaire Village website.
