The Reach War Memorial

The Reach War Memorial is a red Mansfield stone pillar with a shallow pyramidal top on a double plinth and a base. It stands on Fair Green, and is surrounded by a square gravelled area and a low post and chain fence.
8 names of those who lost their lives in the First World War are commemorated on this memorial. Also given are the dtes of death, the regiment, and cause of death. There are no 2nd World War commemorations, as no lives were lost from those wo left the village to serve.
1 soldier who served in the Yorkshire Regiment is named on the memorial.

Formerly 4449 Suffolk Regt. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. S. Camps, of Reach,
Cambs; husband of Eliza Ethel Camps, of Crown Hall Farm, Burwell, Cambs. Killed
18 January 1917. Aged 22.
Born Swaffham Fen (Cambs), Enlisted Newmarket, Resided Burwell.
