The Rawdon War Memorial is located in a Memorial Garden off Micklefield Road, Rawdon.

The memorial is a tapering octagonal latin cross and plinth on a single step. The names commemorated are on plaques fixed to the plinth.

The memorial commemorates the names of 83 men who lost their lives in the First World War, and 34 men from the Second World War. A transcript of all the names is on the Imperial War Museum's Register of War Memorials website

1 soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial.


Private Edward Hartley, 34071. 13th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 26615 Lincs Regt. Son of Benjamin and Sarah Ann Hartley, of 15, Canada Rd., Rawdon, Leeds. Killed 13 April 1918. Aged 18.
Born Rawden (Yorks), Enlisted Leeds, Resided Rawden (Yorks).
Buried LE GRAND BEAUMART BRITISH CEMETERY.
