The Potton War Memorial is located in St. Mary's Churchyard,
Potton.
The memorial is a Celtic cross, of rough stippled cornish granite surmounting
2 concrete plinths. The dedication and commemorations are in raised lead lettering.
50 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the
First World War, and 12 in the Second World War.
The names, with brief biographical details, are shown on the Roll
of Honour website.
1 soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.
Private William Henry Peacock. 29558. 1st/4th Battalion
East Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 46472 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Harry
and Grace Peacock, of 62, Philip St, Newcastle-on-Tyne. Killed 10 April 1918.
Aged 19.
Born Potton, Enlisted Newcastle-on-Tyne.
