The War Memorial in St. George in the Meadows Church, Nottingham consists of three wooden glazed panels. National emblems of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland are at each corner of the board, which has the painted red and white shield of St George at top-centre. A drawing of the figure of St. George is in the centre panel.

163 names of those who lost their lives in the First World War are commmeorated on the memorial, together with 19 names of those who lost their lives in the Second World War.
A transcription of the names is on the Imperial War Museum's Register of War Memorials website, as well as on the Nottinghamshire County Council Roll of Honour website. The latter website includes brief biographical information on the names commemorated.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the War Memorial in St. George in the Meadows Church, Nottingham.


Serjeant Arthur Thomas Moorcroft. 40509. 6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 54982 Leicestershire Regt. Husband of Florry Moorcroft, of 78, Lamcote St., Nottingham. Killed 11 October 1917. Aged 25.
Born Nottingham, Enlisted Nottingham.
Buried DOZINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY, WEST VLAANDEREN.
