The Northampton Garden opf Remmembrance

The Northampton Garden of Remembrance is located in Abington Square, bBetween the junction of Kettering Road and Wellingborough Road.
At one end of the Garden is a collonaded walkway, on the rear wall of which are commemorated the names of the fallen. Other dedicatory inscriptions for the two World wars are placed within the garden. The central inscription panel on the wall has the crest of Northampton, a castle flanked by two lions on a red field with the motto "Castello fortior concordia".
The memorial statue to Edgar Mobbs faces the cll;onade.
2864 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the
First World War, and 702 in the Second World War.
There are also dedicatory plaques for those who lost their lives in the Korean
War and conflicts after the Second World War.
33 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated in the plaques in the Northapoton Garden of Remembrance.
Of note is that 12 of these 33 soldiers were killed serving with the 4th Battalion between 23-25 April 1917, at the Battle of the Scarpe.

Husband of Sarah Giblett (formerly Clarke), of Blackdown Rest, Deepcut, Farnborough,
Hants. Won 2 Cups in 1913 at Aldershot for shooting. Killed 30 October 1914.
Aged 24.
