The War Memorial for North Grimston is a small plain obelisk on square plinth and single step, situated in the churchyard of St. Nicholas' Church.

Private William Fairbairn. 326210. 16th Battalion Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), formerly 22790 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of George and Sarah Fairbairn, of North Grimston, Malton, Yorks. Killed 16 April 1918. Aged 20.
Born North Grimston (Yorks), Enlisted Malton (Yorks).
