Richard Roberts, <richard.nsw@googlemail.com>, has researched the above
soldier and provides the following information;-
"Pte 21029 H Dobson 13th Battalion is Henry Dobson. Using pension records
I found out that he married Florence Hannah Straker, and from Free BMD that
this was in the Mar Qtr 1913 in the Middlesbrough RD. They had two children,
Charles Henry and Mary Jane. In the 1911 Census, Florence born in 1894, is
living with her parents in Ormesby. Although Henry Dobson is a relatively
common name, only one turns up in the 1911 Census born and bred in Middlesbrough
of an age likely to be considered for service in WW1 and he, like Florence,
was born in 1894, the son of William a widower.
I am sure in my own mind that this Henry Dobson is the soldier who served
with the Yorkshire Regiment."
