This proportion of Yorkshire Regiment names to total names is much lower than that of the main Middlesbrough War Memorial on the wall outside Albert Park.

Corporal John Bradley. 3/8632. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Died 17 August 1915.

Private John Bradley. 3/7634. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Daniel and Catherine Bradley. Died 17 June 1915. Aged 20.

Private Thomas William Close. 11952. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Emma Close (stepmother), of 72, Stoorn St., Ormesby, Middlesbrough, and the late Thomas W. Close. Died 10 July 1916. Aged 25.

Private John Alfred Davies. 202017. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of John Edward and Elizabeth Davies. Died 19 July 1917. Aged 27.

Captain Harold Dean, MC. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William and Elizabeth Dean; husband of Dorothy Dean, of "Rosebery," Goldsmid Rd., Tonbridge, Kent. Killed 5 January 1918. Aged 30.
(Had previously been a Corporal (No 131011) in the Royal Engineers before joining the Yorkshire Regiment. His wife lived at 32 Brecon Hill Rd, Middlesbrough)

Private Robert Holmes. 12120. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Mary Jane Holmes, of 190, Marsh Rd., Middlesbrough. Died 7 June 1917. Aged 41.
Born Gateshead, Enlisted Middlesbrough.
Buried RAILWAY DUGOUTS BURIAL GROUND.
(Although shown as Robert Henry Holmes on the Roll of Honour, there is no Robert Henry Holmes with a Middlesbrough connection who lost his life in the First World War.)

Born Aldershot, Enlisted Middlesbrough.

Private Albert Ernest Jones. 201266. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Jane Jones, of 9, Yeoman St., Redcar, Yorks, and the late William Jones. Died 16 September 1916. Aged 19.
