Richard Roberts (<richard.nsw@googlemail.com>) has forwarded photos of the War Memorial for Stockwell in London, and provides the following information;-

The War Memorial is situated at the junction of Lambeth Road and Clapham Road almost opposite Stockwell Station. The names of over 550 local men are commemorated on the memorial including one from the Yorkshire Regiment.


Private George Frederick Billingsley. 10356. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son or Mrs. A. H. Handel, of 2, Arlington Mansions, 18A, Morat St., Brixton, London. Killed 29 September 1918. Aged 24.
Born Holborn, Enlisted London, Resided Brixton S W
Buried SUCRERIE CEMETERY, EPINOY.
