The Llanfyllin War Memorial is located in Llanfyllin's Market Square.

The memorial is a plain Celtic Wheel Cross with a tapering stem and plinth.

The memorial commemorates the names of 34 men who lost their lives in the First World War, as well as 12 from the Second World War. In 2014 Llanfyllin marked the centenary of the outbreak of World War One by a dedication at the town’s memorial.

Two soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.


Lance Corporal Edward Hall. 35001. 13th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 3863 Welsh Fusiliers. Son of Joseph and Agnes Hall, of 20, New Rd., Llanfyllin, Mont.; husband of Clara Elizabeth Hall, of Park Green, Whittington Rd., Oswestry. Died 12 April 1918. Aged 29.
Born Elsmere, Enlisted Llanfyllin, Resided St. Albans.
Commemorated on Panel 4, PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL.
(L/Cpl Hall is shown on the memorial as serving with the Royal Welsh (Welch) Fusiliers.)

Private Thomas Williams. 41708. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 160571 RFA. Son of Edward and Jane Williams, of Glanrhyd, Llanwddyn, Montgomeryshire; husband of Elizabeth Jones (formerly Williams), of Hendy, Dolanog, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire. Died 24 January 1917. Aged 32.
Born Llanbrynmair, Enlisted Llanfyllin.
Buried ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY.
