Evening Post on the St. Columba's Church War Memorial
A War Memorial that was originally in St. Columba's Church, Leeds, is now to be found in Leeds Town Hall. This placement of the memorial came about after the church was demolished. 10 years of campaigning by the Western Front Association ensured that the St Columba’s Roll of Honour memorial, recognising the sacrifices of soldiers from Kirkstal, has been restored to public view at Leeds Town Hall.

campaigning and lists the 92 soldiers on the Roll of Honour.
Amongst the 92 names commemorated are 4 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire
Regiment.
Lance Corporal Fred Atkinson, 7505. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Killed 30 October 1914.
Born Leeds, Enlisted Richmond (Yorks), Resided Leeds.

Lance Corporal Ernest Dangerfield. 25890. 7th Battalion
the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 19 April 1917.
Born Leeds, Enlisted Leeds.
Buried FEUCHY BRITISH CEMETERY.
Private Herbert Money. 11851. 10th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of Samuel and Lilzie Money, of 20, Cardigan Grove,: Kirkstall
Rd., Leeds. Killed 11 April 1917. Aged 23.
Born Guiseley (Yorks), Enlisted Bradford, Resided Leeds.
Commemorated on Bay 5, ARRAS MEMORIAL.
Private Charles Morton. 235295. 4th Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment, formerly 149736 RFA. Son of John and Martha Elizabeth Morton; husband
of Louisa Morton, of 6, Cardigan Crescent, Kirkstall Rd., Leeds. Killed 24
April 1917. Aged 37.
