The War Memorial for King's Lynn (Norfolk)

The King’s Lynn War Memorial is located in the Tower Gardens, St James Street, in an area originally occupied from the early thirteenth century by the friary of the Greyfriars.

The pedestal is set on an octagonal plinth with three steps. On the pedestal is a square base carrying an octagonal shaft terminating in a Latin Cross.

On three bronze plaques are listed the names of the 569 servicemen who died in the First World War, and there is a dedication to those who lost their lives in the Second World War.

The website, Roll of Honour, lists the names on the memorial together with brief biographies.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the King’s Lynn War Memorial.
