The War Memorial plaque for Hutton Henry was originally sited in St. Francis' Church, Front Street, Hutton Henry.
On closure of the church, the plaque is now situated in St. Francis Church Hall, also on Front Street.
The memorial is a brass plaque with 17 names engraved on it, commemorating those who lost their lives in the First World War.
A transcription of these names is on the North East War Memorials Project website.

2 soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the memorial.


Private William Johnson Bruce. 34392. 5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment), formerly 16502 the Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Mary Edith Johnson Bruce (nee Wilkinson), of 21, Roman Rd., Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. Killed 25 August 1918. Aged 37.
Born Hutton Henry (Durham), Enlisted West Hartlepool (Durham).
Buried GOMIECOURT SOUTH CEMETERY.
( Note : The above soldier is shown as "W Johnson" on the memorial. It appears that he sometimes assumed the name of William Johnson and his widow bears the name Mary Edith Johnson. In the National Probate Register William Johnson Bruce,or William Johnson of Hutton Henry died 25 August 1917 in France leaving £69 9s.)

Private Albert Ernest Wills. 18003. 7th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Henrietta Ellison (formerly Wills), of 27, Seymour St., Wingate, Co. Durham. Killed 3 August 1915. Aged 35.
Born Wingate (Durham), Enlisted West Hartlepool, Resided Wingate.
Buried BEDFORD HOUSE CEMETERY.
