The War Memorial for Hunton is situated on the road North out of the village (the Catterick road). The memorial is at the side of the road, not far from a small green on which there are some quoits pitches.

Seven names of those who lost their lives in the First World War are commemorated on this memorial, together with three from the Second World war. The website GENUKI provides a transcript of the names on the memorial.

Two soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on the memorial.

Born Hunton (Yorks), Enlisted Leyburn, Resided Hunton (Bedale).

Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.

Lance Corporal Ernest Blythe Pickersgill. 201203. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 14 December 1917.
Enlisted Northallerton, Resided Bedale.
Buried POTIJZE CHATEAU GROUNDS CEMETERY.
