The First World War Memorial in St. Mary's Church, Lowgate in Hull is a superb memorial consisting of paintings of three saints - Oswald, Michael and George and between them two columns of names of the fallen in black letters. Located on the outside wall of a small chapel to the left hand side of the church.

100 names are commemorated on this memorial.

Private Walter Diglin, 203159. 1st/4th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, formerly 5525 the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 27 July 1917.
Born Hull, Enlisted Hull.
Buried COXYDE MILITARY CEMETERY.

Private Walter Henry Tindall. 33461. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 253 East Yorks Regt. Son of Mrs. Hannah Ellis Tindall, of 30, Bishop Lane, Lowgate, Hull, and the late William Tindall. Killed 20 September 1917. Aged 25.
Born Hull, Enlisted Hull.
Commemorated on Panels 51 to 54 and 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
