The Horsforth Urban District Council Book of Remembrance is held in the Horsforth Museum.

The Book of Remembrance is in four sections:
1 Those who served in World War.
2 VAD Nurses who served in World War One.
3 Those who died serving in World War One.
4 Those who died serving in World War Two.

A transcription of all the names is provided on the website of the Airedale & Wharfedale Family History Society. The transcription includes the full names of those who died and the regiments they served in.

2 soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment, and lost their lives, are named in the Roll of Honour


Corporal James Walter Roo. 12129. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Died 25 October 1917.
Born Horsforth (Leeds), Enlisted Leeds, Resided Horsforth.
Commemorated Panel 52 to 54 and 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.

Private William Sanders. 15446. 6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Mrs. Sanders, of 3, Prospect Cottages, Town St., Horsforth, Leeds. Killed 10 November 1915.
Born Grimstone, Enlisted Leeds, Resided Horsforth.
Buried PORTIANOS MILITARY CEMETERY.


Horsforth MuseumHorsforth Museum
Located on the Green, Horsforth, almost opposite the bus terminus. This museum is only open on Saturdays, and Sunday afternoons, between the last weekend in March and the end of December.
