The First World War Roll of Honour in Hexham Abbey is located in theb War Memorial Chapel in the North Transept of Hexham Abbey, Beaufront Street, Hexham.

The Roll of Honour is in a glazed carved frame, decorated witha wide blue painted border with raised flowers.

247 names are commmeorated, of which 180 have been transcriobed on the Imperial War Museum's Register of War Memorials website. A transcription of all the names can be found on the North East War Memorials Project website.

1 soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.


Serjeant Thomas Greenwell Miller, 235370. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 1932 Northumberland Fusiliers. Son of Robert Horswill Miller and Elizabeth Jane Miller, of Devonshire House, Northumberland Gardens, Walbottle, Newburn-on-Tyne. Died 26 September 1917. Aged 23.
Born Blyth, Enlisted Hexham, Resided Newbourne-on-Tyne.
Commemorated on Panels 52 to 54 & 162A, TYNE COT MEMORIAL.
