The First World War Memorial Plaque in the Gosforth Community Health Centre

The community health centre in Church Road, Gosforth, was built as an official war memorial, with £4,004 being raised by public subscription. It opened in 1925 as a maternity and child welfare centre and in its main corridor is a First World War memorial plaque.

274 names of those who lost their lives in the First World War are commmeorated on the panels on this memorial.

The names commemorated have been transcribed on the North East War Memorials Project website.

1 soldier who served in the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial.
