Thirteen names from the First World War are on East Witton's War Memorial (together with a single name from the Second World War). Curiously, the name of a soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment who is buried in the nearby churchyard is NOT recorded on this memorial.
The names of the First World War casualties on the memorial, - those of the Yorkshire Regiment in bold, are;

Joseph Allen
Frank Atkinson
Robert S Atkinson
John Bowes
John Carruthers
Bertie Willian Greenhalgh
Joseph Hutchinson
John Leake
John Maughan
Godfrey Metcalfe
John G Towler
Mansell Waite
Edwin Wright

The Kenbray Family Memorial on which Private Paul Allen is commemorated.

This family headstone is in St. John's Churchyard. The main face commemorates Paul and Susan Kenbray; the face to the left of the main face commemorates their daughter, Jane Agnes, and her husband Paul Allen.
To the right of this family memorial, and slightly behind, is the Commonwealth War Grave of a Yorkshire Regiment soldier Private J Bates.
