The First World War Memorial inside the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, East
Haddon, is a tablet which commemorates the names of 65 men who lost their
lives in the First World War.
Outside the church, in the churchyard, is a War Memorial in the form of a
Cross. This memorial bears no names, with these being commemorated in the
church instead.
1 soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.
Private Ernest Leonard Crosby. 109922.

Killed 29 October 1918.
Born Beaumont (Essex), Enlisted Ipswich, Resided Clacton-on-Sea.
Buried ARCHANGEL ALLIED CEMETERY.
Private Crosby's Service Record exists. From this it can be seen that he gave his address as Edward Lodge, East Bergholt.
