Above the window on the main facade is a partly gilded relief of St. George and the dragon with four bronze lion heads supporting flagpoles to each side of the main entrance and a balcony above the entrance carries a specially composed inscription by Thomas Hardy. The names of the fallen are inscribed on walls of a vaulted chamber at the base of tower.
