Serjeant James Beaman Yorkshire Light Infantry
Lance Corporal George Fothergill, Machine Gun Corps
Private Frederick Kitching, Australian Imperial Forces
(*) Private George Dunderdale is shown on the Memorial as having served in the Yorkshire Regiment. He, in fact, served in the 8th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment.
We are very grateful to Roger Newsome (<renewsome@live.co.uk) for providing us with the photos and transcriptions. Due to weathering, and the presence of lichen, the Memorial proved extremely difficult to read. This is another good example of the need to preserve these memorials before time takes its toll.

( Formerly Royal Garrison Artillery). Son of George and Jane Bradley, of Carthorpe,
Bedale; husband of Gertrude Ellen Bradley, of Carthorpe, Bedale, Yorks.Killed
in Action 2 April 1917. Age 32.
Commemorated Bay 5, Arras Memorial.
Born Carthorpe, Enlisted Bedale, Resided Thirsk.
Private James Tweedy. 204023. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Frederick William and Annie Elizabeth Tweedy, of Oak Tree Cottage,
Burneston, Bedale, Yorks. Killed in Action 28 October 1917. Age 20.
Buried Poelcapelle British Cemetery.
Born Bradford, Enlisted Harrogate, Resided Bedale.
