The War Memorial for Bromley

The War Memorial for Bromesberrow is located in Martins Hill Park, at the junction of Glassmill Lane and Church Road, Bromley.
The memorial is on a Portland stone pedestal with three figures in cast bronze representing “Victory” in the front, “Liberty” on the left and “Sorrowful Remembrances” on the right.
There are four main panels in bronze with a total of 858 names raised in letters. An additional panel with 14 names was added at a later date. In 1949 side panels were added to commemorate the fallen of the Second World War.
A website, the Bromley War Memorial, lists the names of all those commemorated together with their regiments.
1 soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on the memorial.

formerly 34781 9th T R Battn. Son of William and Alice Day, of 105, Jackson's
Rd., Bromley Common, Kent. Died 27 May 1918. Aged 19.
Born Plaistow (London), Enlisted Bromley, Resided Bromley Common (Kent).
Buried VENDRESSE BRITISH CEMETERY.
