The First World War Memorial in St. Paul's Church, Branxton (Northumberland) is a pair of stained glass windows with siz regimental crests. Below the window is a dedicatory sandstone tablet set in a wooden frame.

6 soldiers are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World war. One of these names is a soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment but who is incorrectly shown as serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers. This soldier is buried in St. Paul's Churchyard, and is also commemorated as having been a pupil at Branxton School.

Private John Ewart Ewart. TR/5/45115. 14th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, attached to 81st Battalion Training Reserve. Son of Mrs. Hannah Ewart, of Downham. Mindrum. Northumberland. Died at home 25 April 1917. Aged 25.
Born Branxton, Enlisted Newcastle-on-Tyne, Resided Carnhill.
Buried in ST. PAUL'S CHURCHYARD, BRANXTON.
