The War Memorial outside the Presbytery of St. Patrick's RC Church, Bradford, is an ornate street shrine with a Crucufix in a niche and flanked by two figures. It has a crenallated top. The commemorated names are incised on the tablet below. There are blocks at the foot of the shrine also bearing names.
The memorial commemorates the names of 177 men who fell in the First World War. A transcription of the names is on the Imperial War Museum's Register of War Memorials.

* Richard Roberts (<richard.nsw@googlemail.com>) has researched the
family history of the above soldier, in particular his surname of "Gallaker".
Richard makes the following comments;-
"There is no record of a man named James Gallaker born In Bradford or
anywhere for that matter. However, there are a number of men named James Gallagher
born in Bradford but neither the CWGC nor the SDGW list a James Gallagher
born in Bradford as a casualty. Also the 1911 Census doesn’t show any
reference to a James Gallaker.
The UK, World War 1 Pension Ledgers and Index Cards, 1914-1923 for James Gallaker
lists a Mrs Ann Boyle as his mother. I have looked at the 1911 Census and
found a Mrs Ann Boyle listed in Bradford along with her son, James Gallagher.
She states that she has completed 20 years in her present marriage burt her
son James is aged 33 so clearly she was previously married to a Mr Gallagher.
Looking at FreeBMD an Ann Gallagher married a Thomas Boyle in the Sept Qtr
1891 in the Bradford RD. And checking the 1891 Census she was married to a
Bernard Gallagher with a son named James.
There is a Gallagher Jas commemorated on the war memorial in St.
Patrick's RC Church and there is no doubt in my mind that this is in fact
the James Gallaker who formerly served with the Yorkshire Regt."
Private Lucien Vincent Mahdjoubian. 43685. 2nd Battalion
the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 5/70929 87th T R Battn. Son of Vincent and
Elise Mahdjoubian, of 9, St. Paul's Rd., Bradford. Killed 6 November 1918.
Aged 19.
Born Bradford, Enlisted Bradford.
Buried BETTRECHIES COMMUNAL CEMETERY.
(Richard Roberts, <richard.nsw@googlemail.com>, noted that "...
his father was Turkish and traded in Mohair."
Private Herbert McAvan, 7604. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire
Regiment. Son of John and Mary McAvan, of 25, Westgrove St., Westgate, Bradford;
husband of Fanny McAvan. Killed 30 October 1914. Aged 30.
Born Bradford, Enlisted Bradford.
Commemorated on Panel 33, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
