The Barton Hill School War Memorial is a bronze plaque that was originally wall mounted, bearing a wreath in relief with title. The dedication and commemorated names are in relief. At its current location it is mounted on a concrete plinth outside the Church of St Luke, Church St, Barton Hill, Bristol.

The names of 107 men are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War, and a similar number as having served and returned.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial.


Private Wilfred Edward John Davey, 42315. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 164236 RFA. Killed 2 April 1917.
Born Barton Hill (Bristol), Enlisted Bristol.
