The Barnoldswick (Lancs) War memorial is in a small park set off Wellhouse Road in Barnoldswick.
There may be some confusion over the town name, as there is a Barnoldswick (North Yorks) near Ingleton. Originally the Barnoldswick (Lancs) was also in North Yorkshire, but boundary changes have altered the county in which it is found.

Three soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.

Private Alfred Harper, 27049. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of William Edward and Mary Harper, of Carleton House, Barnoldswick, Yorks. Killed 10 February 1917. Aged 22.
Born Carleton (Yorks), Enlisted Skipton, Resided Barnoldswick (Yorks).
Buried RAILWAY DUGOUTS BURIAL GROUND.

Private Fred Whittaker. 28621. 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of George and Mary Whittaker, of 9, Cobden St., Barnoldswick, Yorks. Killed 26 October 1918. Aged 21.
Born Barnoldswick, Enlisted Keighley (Yorks), Resided Barnoldswick.
Buried STE. MARIE CEMETERY, LE HAVRE.

Private Thomas Dent Wright. 42621. 8th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Formerly 29/469 Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed 7 June 1917.
Born Barnoldswick, Enlisted Barnoldswick.
