The Aldbrough War Memorial is located on an island at the junction of Church Street and Cross Street.

The memorial is a plain obelisk on a square plinth surrounded by railings.
23 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War, and 10 in the Second World War and subsequent conflicts.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this War Memorial.


Private Tom Bennington. 36232. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 21681 East Yorks Regt. Son of George Bennington, of Aldbrough, Hull, and the late Emily Bennington. Killed 18 April 1917.
Born Aldbrough, Enlisted Hornsea, Resided Aldbrough.
Buried CAYEUX MILITARY CEMETERY.
