Private John Lavender. 15028. 7th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Charles H. and Alice Lavender, of 29, Tanfield St., Pallion, Sunderland. Killed 15 February 1916. Aged 23.

Private Sydney John Lawson. 2868. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 25 April 1915.

Captain Ernest Geoffrey Carrington Le Sueur. 1st Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 26 July 1917.

Captain Edward Wilberforce Leather. 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment, attached to the 2nd Battalion K O Y L I. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. Leather, of Middleton Hall, Belford, Northumberland. Served in the South African Campaign. Killed 18 April 1915. Aged 35.

Private Alfred Lee. 10203. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of John Philpott Lee and Louisa Maria Philpott Lee, of 203, Strone Rd., Forest Gate, London. Killed 30 October 1914. Aged 19.

Private Thomas Leonard. 7948. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Annie Lowry, of 18, Giles Square, Bank, Leeds. Killed 22 October 1914. Aged 32.

Lance Corporal William Langton Lindsay, 34176. 8th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, formerly 19576 the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of the late John and Mary Jane Lawn; husband of Betsy Lawn, of 28, Shrewsbury St., West Hartlepool. Died 7 June 1917. Aged 25.
Born Escomb (Bishop Auckland), Enlisted Crook (Durham), Resided Witton Park (Durham).
Commemorated Panel 36 and 55, YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL.
(The West Hartlepool Roll of Honour gives his regiment as "Yorks" and place of residence as 7a Oxford Street, West Hartlepool. Looks like SDGW has got its facts completely wrong in this case!)

Corporal Herbert Little, MM. 14205. 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Joseph and Annie Little, of 18, York Terrace, Willington, Co. Durham. Killed 7 June 1917. Aged 22.
Born Willington (Durham), Enlisted Durham, Resided Willington.

Corporal Albert Edward Lodge. 1008. 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Husband of Janet Atkinson (formerly Lodge), of 72, Alexandra Rd., Grange Town, Yorks. Killed 13 July 1915. Aged 25.
Born York, Enlisted Eston, Resided Grangetown.

Private William Longley. 8178. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James and Janet Longley, of 69, Clarence Rd., Hunslet, Leeds husband of Laura Bostock (formerly Longley), of 17 Station Rd., Swinton, Rotherham. Killed Between 22 October 1914 and 6 November 1914. Aged 27.
