The War Memorial, - Wath Upon Dearne (Rotherham)

The War Memorial for Wath Upon Dearne is located in the churchyard of All Saints Church, Church Street, Wath Upon Dearne.
The memorial is a tall latin cross on square plinth and three
stepped base. 254 names are commemorated on the memorial as having lost their
lives in the First World War, on metal plates attached to the sides of the
plinth. An arched wall behind the memorial commemorates 65 names of those
who lost their lives in the Second World war.

2 soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment are commemorated on this memorial.
Private Thomas Coggan. 15891. 6th Battalion the Yorkshire
Regiment. Killed 14 September 1916.
Born Wath-on-Dearne (Rotherham), Enlisted Wath-on-Dearne.
Buried LONSDALE CEMETERY, AUTHUILLE.
Private Herbert Robinson. 34226.
8th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, formerly 19204 the Yorkshire Regiment.
Of Wath-on-Dearne, Yorkshire. Enlisted 9th Nov., 1914. Killed 11 June 1918.
Aged 32.
Born Wath-on-Dearne (Yorks), Enlisted Wath-on-Dearne.
Buried MONTECCHIO PRECALCINO COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION.
