The First World War Memorial for Spalding is a reredos in the Chapel of St. George, in the parish church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas. There are three panels in the reredos, with the central panel depicting a painted calvary scene of Christ crucified with three figures below. The calvary scene is painted with a gold painted background. The left and the the right panels commemorate 247 names of those who gave their ives in the First World War.
We are very grateful to Glass Angel, whose photo of the memorial is found in their Flickr photostream, for allowing us use of the above photo.
Photos of the panels with the commemorations may also be found on the Imperial War Museum's War Memorial Search website.
