Born Spennymoor, Enlisted Spennymoor.
Buried HILL 10 CEMETERY.
The above photo of William Wilson was kindly provided by Julie Robinson (<julierobinson297@hotmail.com>),
a great grand-daughter of William Wilson.
William was one of the last soldiers of the 6th Battalion to die on Turkish
soil in the Gallipoli campaign. He died shortly before the 6th Battalion was
evacuated from the Gallipoli peninsula.
Julie Robinson has obtained copies of the 6th Battalion War Diary for December
1915 which covers the date on which Private Wilson lost his life. These pages
are shown below.
