The Roll of Honour for Eston, Normanby Lackenby and Upsall.
Stan Grosvenor (<csstan@mametz.fsnet.co.uk>) is in possession of a copy of the Roll of Honour for Eston, Normanby Lackenby and Upsall which he has kindly allowed this website to use.
There are 416 names in this Roll of Honour. The document is headed "Roll of Honour of the Inhabitants of Eston, Normanby, Lackenby and Upsall who nobly responded to the call of King and Country for the Great European War, commencing August 1914.". The document was printed by Solomon and Whitehead Ltd, Colour Printers of Birmingham and London.
Some of those named fell during the First World War, but there is no indication on the document as to who fell and who survived. Of interest is the fact that of the 416 people named, 207 served with the Yorkshire Regiment.
