The Deputy Chair of the Rountons Parish Council, Mrs Anne Simpson (<Anne.Simpson@dti.gsi.gov.uk>), has very kindly forwarded the original transcription from the East Rounton War Memorial. This was recorded in the Rountons parish records. As has been noted on the page for the East Rounton War Memorial, the names on the memorial of those who served is no longer legible.

Mrs Simpson provides the following information on this transcription;-
"I now have better details of where the list of names came from. It was given to Rountons parish council by Derek Kendrew. It was found amongst his mother's papers. Derek Kendrew believes that the list was given to his father, Robert Kendrew, by the Bell family of East Rounton. The Bell family are the local estate owners and had the memorial built. Robert Kendrew was the Bell's chauffeur and is listed on the memorial as fighting with the R.F.C."

Thus, the transcription forwarded to us by Mrs Simpson, which lists both those who fell and those who served, is a valuable Roll of Honour for East Rounton. A photo of the Roll of Honour that was was in Derek Kendrew's mother's papers is shown below. The names recorded on this paper are as below;-
