Selecting the above image will give you a higher definition version, which will enable you to examine the names in detail.

The Roll of Honour is hand drawn / painted, and is inscribed;-
"ROLL OF HONOUR, - THE MEN OF BEMPTON AND BUCKTON WHO SERVED IN THE GREAT WAR FOR GOD FOR KING AND COUNTRY".

No distinction is made on this Roll of Honour between those who fell and those who returned.

There is one name for the Yorkshire Regiment, - Arthur E Edmond of the 5th Battalion. However, although there was an Alfred Henry Edmond of the 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment from nearby Driffield who was killed it would appear that Arthur E Edmond returned.

However, one Yorkshire Regiment soldier is shown on this Roll of Honour, but as having served in the East Yorkshire Regiment. This was incorrect in that he served in the Yorkshire Regiment, and did NOT return.

Private Bielby Hodgson. 1239. 5th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of George and Hannah Hodgson, of Buckton, Bempton, Bridlington. Killed 25 April 1915. Aged 25.
Born Buckton (Bridlington), Enlisted Bridlington, Resided Buckton.
