The War Memorial for Muggleswick is a cross, as shown above. It bears the names of 7 men of the armed forces who lost their lives in the First World War, and one from the Second World war. Their names are shown on the photos below, together with the dedication of the Memorial and a photo of the Church outside which it stands.

One name for a soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is on the memorial.


Private Thomas Gladstone Hall, 17222. 11th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Robert and Elizabeth Ann Hall, of Waskerley. Died at home 14 February 1915. Aged 23.
Born Waskerley (Durham), Enlisted Darlington, Resided Waskerley.
