The First World War Memorial in St. Barnabas' Church, Middlesbrough, consists of a wall-mounted memorial tablet with 5 panels bearing the names of those parishioners who lost their lives in the First World War.
101 names are commemorated, of whom 35 served in the Yorkshire Regiment.
This proportion of Yorkshire Regiment names to total names is similar to that of the main Middlesbrough War Memorial on the wall outside Albert Park.
There are some curiosities amongst the names, in that, for instance, several of the Officers are known to have lived outside the Middlesbrough area but are nevertheless found on this particular memorial.

We are very grateful to Bolckow for his photo (posted on Flickr) of this memorial.
